This post is for threading with Shiemi anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals to get in contact with her for personal conversations.

[Shiemi walks into the house blindfold with her hands waving and reaching out. Behind her is Skarmy nudging Shiemi's back with the smooth part of her beak.]

What's going on? I don't get it, Skarmy!

[Go bird, you were totally good for something. And he claps his hands, grinning now as he side-steps so when she gets it off she'll see the cake] Hey Shiemi!

[She's keeping the blind fold on because she doesn't know if she's allowed to take it off yet.]

Rin? Is that you?

Yeah, it's me! [...] Shouldn't you take that blindfold off?

I'm allowed?

[Her hands cautiously reach up to pull the blindfold down. When she sees the balloons in the kitchen all she can do is stare. Suspicion tells her that the might be hers, but she doesn't want to assume.]

Happy birthday!

[Yeah with a grin and laughing. Putting his arms out, grinning, generally trying to look presentable and welcoming]

[Surprised she brings her hands up to her mouth so it's not so loud when she gasps. It's all so nice! And so much more than she expected! Slowly she tiptoes over to the kitchen. Her cautious walk is almost as if she feels that all of it would disappear if she reacted to enthusiastically.]

It's so nice...

Hey, I told you I would last year, remember? I was planning to do something bigger, but some people have gone home, so it might be weird so... there's this.

[He totally botched that explanation, didn't he]

[Her eyes star welling up with tears. This all, despite how small, is enough to make her cry. She's never really had a friend throw her a birthday party before, even if Yukio did give her a present last year.]

R-Rin! Thank you so much, this is- [Sob.]

-Wha?! What're you crying for?! [And he goes in towards her, a little panicky despite himself]

B-b-beacuse this is so nice! I'm so happy!

[LOTS OF TEARS.]

O--oh. [With a little blush Oh. Good! That's... good] You're welcome!

[The water works begin to slow, and she tries to rub the tears out of her eyes with her hands.

Skarmy, in the background, tilts her head quizzically.]

So... so yeah! It's your birthday, we got cake and presents and-- and right. Skarmy! We better sing now!

[As he goes to point at he metal bird before breaking into the Happy Birthday song. Even if the bird doesn't]

[Singing!? This is so cool! Her eyes sparkle with wonder, even if her Pokémon is squawking obnoxiously trying to imitate Rin.]

[At least she's trying, he was half afraid that she would be uncooperative. So the singing goes smoothly, if a bit off key.]

[When the singing ends Shiemi takes a deep breath. So deep that when she holds it her cheeks puff up with air. Soon she'll blow out her candles-!

But before she can Skarmy flaps her wings, and the candles blow out.]

Whaaaaat-?! Skarmy?! Come on!

[No, he even half-leaps over towards the bird]

[Skarmy hustles her way out of the kitchen away from Rin while Shiemi laughs mirthfully.]

Bird! [BAAAAH! But then he gives up and sighs] Ugh, she's causing problems.

It's okay, Rin. Skarmy just wanted to help.

Can we cut the cake now?

Of course! This is what it's here for, after all. [They should probably allow for Izumo too, but maybe the bird's getting her. Anyway he turns to pick up a knife, swinging it in an unnecessary show off in his hand before hanging it over to her]

[Shiemi hesitates. She didn't expect she would be the one cutting. Her hands retract, and timidly rest up by her chest. She's a little afraid to take it.]

[And he slowly retracts his hand, tilting his head some] Or... I could?

[The girl smiles nervously as her fingers grip the fabric of her shirt to give her a sense of stability. Shiemi nods.]

I don't want to drop it. [And ruin the cake, or worse hurt somebody. Maybe some other time.]
