Of course! This is what it's here for, after all. [They should probably allow for Izumo too, but maybe the bird's getting her. Anyway he turns to pick up a knife, swinging it in an unnecessary show off in his hand before hanging it over to her]

[Shiemi hesitates. She didn't expect she would be the one cutting. Her hands retract, and timidly rest up by her chest. She's a little afraid to take it.]

[And he slowly retracts his hand, tilting his head some] Or... I could?

[The girl smiles nervously as her fingers grip the fabric of her shirt to give her a sense of stability. Shiemi nods.]

I don't want to drop it. [And ruin the cake, or worse hurt somebody. Maybe some other time.]

Alright, you got it! [And-] How big of piece do you want? [And he then goes to motion with the knife to demonstrate various sizes]

Ah... that much! [She'll take the biggest one you're offering, Rin.]

Yeah, of course you do...

[And there we go. Big piece cut! He totally should have seen that coming. He takes two more, smaller, pieces out for him and Izumo - and then as an afterthought one more for Skarmy just in case.

...Should he do one more for Midori?

[Skarmy peeks her head in the door as Shiemi happily takes her large piece with a smile. With a finger the girl swipes up some of the icing, and puts it in her mouth.]

Very good as always, Rin!

[Well that makes him pause with a fork part way to his mouth for a moment.

But he recovers and laughs it off]

Ahahah, yeah! I mean, it's your birthday so... of course!

Thank you so much, Rin. You've made my birthdays here really great.

[He didn't do much at all last time, if you ask him. But...]

You're welcome. It's the least I can do.

Ah, I just wish I could have done more for yours.

[And now he frowns, his fork in the cake slice. He twists it around a little, and-] E..eh. That's okay.

Would it be all right if I did something next time?

[Next time...] Y-yeah. If we're still here.

Maybe... maybe back home I've been better about your birthdays.

You've be-- oi, oi. Even from where I'm from, we've only just gotten to leaving Kyoto. We can't know anything 'bout what happens after that, because it hasn't happened.

Right, right... sorry.

It's... fine. [Sorry isn't necessary. He takes another bite of the cake, feeling a little awkward to tell her off like that. Or to shoot down what he knows should have been a sweet offer. He knows he would have normally appreciated it.]

[She begins to eat her cake too. Honestly it's a little scary how much she can eat.]

[It is, it's constantly amazing to him. It must got straight to her boobs]

[It really must, but when she's finished she thrusts out her plate asking for more.

SHE WILL EAT HER FEELINGS.]

[...Is she serious? More cake? He cuts her off another (smaller) piece before nodding.]

[She gives a small smile as a thank you before she ends up scarfing that down too.]
