[The Voice function on the journal starts up, but instead of Shiemi's voice it's Rin's:]

Ossu. It's me, Rin -- I lost my journal a while ago and I still haven't find the thing. 'M using Shiemi's just for a bit to make sure anyone who doesn't know, knows. [...] Uh, I can't really keep using this, so if you wanna come talk meet me at House 15?

[People can find Shiemi doing one of two things today:

1) In the sky people can see Shiemi practicing with her now very large (now full grown at five feet and seven inches) skarmory. She'll stand on her Pokémon's back as if she were surfing, ride on its back like it's a horse, or - this one has her particularly frightened - practice falling. Shiemi stands up, lets herself fall backwards off of Skarmy, and then Skarmy swoops back around to catch her. Honestly they hope never to put the skill to use for real, but they might have to use it.

2) After they're done the duo go back to the house (#15) to rest. Shiemi treats Skarmy to some spicy foods, and while the large bird starts preening its feathers... some steel feathers fall off! Skarmy is has started molting, and leaving large, sharp metal feathers everywhere. Oops!]

[She is clearly unsure how to handle this blue phoenix thing. Skarmy banks left to avoid a tree.]

[Flies around it as well, though he goes to the right of it before rejoining them.]

Are you sure you're okay? You shouldn't be so reckless when flying. [PEERS AT.]

But we need to practice! What if something bad happens, and we can't handle it?

[They both have to become stronger. They have to keep up with their friends, and not get left behind.]

You're practicing jumping or him catching you?

[Skarmy lets a displeased rumbling sound settle in her throat as Shiemi replies.]

She's catching me so we're prepared if I ever get knocked off.

Ah... Her! [Whistles in phoenix:] Very sorry Miss!

I guess that's a pretty good plan. You must trust each other a lot then, eh?

[Skarmy, being the brat she is, doesn't acknowledge Marco's apology.]

[Wow... cold. It's because he's a firebird and she's metal isn't it? Their flying types are not enough to make up for their differences. Star-crossed forever!]

[And he grins to Shiemi.]

That's good. Nakama are important. I'd go nuts if my nakama tried that trick off my back though. I don't think my reflexes are as fast as hers.

She is pretty impressive! I'm lucky to have her!

[As a steel pokémon her weakness is fire, so Skarmy is trying to keep a distance. However when they speak so highly of her it almost looks as if she's smiling.]

I'll bet. Did you meet her here or back in your world?

[Luckily Marco's flames don't burn though, so even if Skarmy did run directly into him, she wouldn't melt in the slightest. He does appear to be on fire though, so avoiding him is perfectly reasonable.]

Here! Silver's Murkrow and Mr. Falkner's Skarmory had her.

[Huh. He doesn't either of those birds, even though he's spoken to each of those people once. He really needs to get out more.]

Well, she's very beautiful, eh? I've never seen a metal bird before! We don't have any in my world.

[Skarmy, at the moment, is looking quite smug. Of course she's beautiful. She's the most beautiful freakin' bird in Luceti if she does say so herself.]

Mine either, so it's pretty neat to see creatures like her from other worlds.

[Marco nods in agreement.]

And here I thought my world is pretty unique in that respect.

ah, really?

Aye. From everything I can tell, phoenixes exist in other worlds, but none of them are blue like me.

We don't have any metal birds though! That's really amazing.

Blue Phoenix? That's what you are?

Aye!
