❀ 3rd Weed in the Garden - Action ❀

[So what if it's cold today? That won't stop Shiemi, or her new partner Skarmy. The two are determined- Okay, maybe more so Shiemi than the metal bird, but nevertheless they are both out training today. On the edge of the forest a teen girl and a two to three foot metal baby bird can be found practicing moves. So far Taunt and Drill Peck are the only ones Shiemi has recognized.

Before lunch they walk together around the plaza to take a break, and finally about an hour after noon the pair will head to Community Building One. Maybe she can ask Rin to make them lunch. He makes her dinners often enough, but... it's her Birthday. Today she'll want to indulge in his cooking instead of her usual guilty acceptance of her kindness. ...She should learn how to make edible food one day, really.

And that's it. She doesn't make this day a big deal because... well when your world is just your house your birthdays don't tend to be big anyway. Plus: how does I birthday with friends?]

Urge to ask what exactly that bird thing is, but also urge to keep the present a surprise. Unsure what do. UHM. He really doesn't want to leave her with some sharp, pointy metal bird thing...

[The baby skarmory notices him first. Yukio isn't too far from Shiemi when it goes to bother him. Skarmy inspects him. Huh... looks a little like that awkward Rin guy, but is definitely a different person.

...Skarmy gives Yukio an unimpressed look, and just as she does Shiemi notices him.]

That's Skarmy! She's my pokémon.

Her egg was left in my garden.

Whilst I'm sure you only wanted the best for the egg I'm not so sure how safe it is to have a bird like this around.

[She looks sharp. And very pointy. And he has no idea how to approach someone having a pet metal bird at all.

Skarmy can be a little naughty sometimes, but she means well! If we train enough, I'll get to know her better and maybe she'll listen more.

I hope that she does if you're going to be putting in the effort to train with her like that.

[Putting in effort and trying is so cool after all.] Make sure she's eating a proper meal full of nutrients between training sessions. I might be able to pick up some bird seed before returning today. [...Metal birds do eat seeds right?]

No, that's okay! Skarmy likes to eat the berries in my garden.

[The large bird was also eyeing up a field mouse while they were training.]

Still, I'm not sure if berries alone would be enough for a proper diet. It would depend on the berries I suppose.

[Quickly readjusting the box in his spare hand behind his back as he goes on about berries, nutrition and such.]

There are more creatures like this? If there are a lot more then maybe it wouldn't hurt to read up on them a little for this sort of information.

[That's mostly to himself there, but he might hoping Shiemi reads a little about these pokémon things too seeing as she owns one.]

I could always ask Falkner! B-but he seems busy a lot.

If Falkner knows more about these sorts of animals then asking him for more information would be a smart thing to do, even if he's busy. [...] I could ask him for you, I'm admittedly curious about Skarmy and Pokémon anyway. At least now I am.

Skarmy won't evolve, eventually she'll get really big, and her wings will become sharp like swords.

[sharpness]

[So the sharp, pointy metal bird is going to get bigger and more dangerous. That sounds just wonderful.]

If she ends up becoming too big then perhaps installing a perch somewhere outside the apartment might be an idea, just for safety's sake.

M-maybe, or... we could get a house? If there are any empty?

[She doesn't want to leave her outside.]

Well that's an option too, an entire room to herself in a house should be plenty of space for a growing, metal bird. Or at least I imagine it would be.

[Skarmy squawks at Yukio. It's hard to tell if that's a yes or a, "Go jump off a cliff for thinking I should stay outside." Because, you know, no one here knows Pokéspeak.]

Inside the box are a miniature fork, trowel, hoe and gardening gloves. He has no idea if Shiemi already found her own things here but he knows she's an avid gardener and practical gifts are always good.]
