Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! It's cold! It's cold!

[A small blond teen in a new feather dress climbs out of the fountain, soaked from the knees down. She scrambles to get away and ends up running through the village a little before slipping and having a giant fall. This fall knocks her journal open. The recording was pressed on by accident, and the book is upside down so there is no picture. There is only:]

Ow, ow, ow, ow...

That is... convenient. Could you show me where to find a map in there, please?

[ He goes to the door, holding it open for her. ]

Sure. There should be a map in my jacket, too, if ya just wanna take that one.

[She walks in, but when he suggests that she take his map she turns red and shakes her head.]

I- I couldn't! It's yours! I can just get another one!

[ He follows her and lets the door fall shut. Her vehement refusal has him chuckling a bit. ]

I could just get another one, too, but if you insist...

[ He looks around for the desk Rydia had given him his map from. ]

W-well this one is already yours...

They're all the same, aren't they?

[ He trots the familiar drawer and rummages through it until he finds a map identical to his and holds it out to her. ]

But here ya go.

[She takes the map sheepishly and looks embarrassed.] Thank you.

[ Firo just shuts the drawer and chuckles. ]

Okay, so if you look at it you'll see all these buildings around the village right? The Community Buildings are where you can go find an apartment to live in. If you don't think you can find one today you can spend the night here.

[Shiemi nods. She understands. She has... most of the day ahead of her, so she might just meet someone she knows! It's possible.]

Right! I'll remember that.

Good. Pretty much everything you need'll be in the shops around here and it's all free. Did I mention that you can sometimes find your stuff there if you look carefully?

No you didn't! Is that really true?

Ah. Probably shoulda' said that earlier.

It is. I found my knife over in the weapons store and I heard plenty a' people got their stuff too.

That's really neat.

It is. Convenient, too. You got anything you wanna look for? I can't guarantee it'll be there, but if you had it with you before you got here there's a pretty good chance.

Clothes? [She asks sheepishly. This jacket is nice, but she'd like to have her own things.

[ He starts exiting the Welcome Center, holding the door open for her. ]

You'd think they'd at least give you a coat or somethin' if you come when it's this cold. But I guess that's the Malnosso for ya.

Mm, they aren't very nice at all.

[ He nods ]

And that's puttin' it mildly. All the free room and board doesn't make up for the other stuff they do.

What kinds of things do they do?

I told you about the experiments, didn't I? And that's all on top a' the fact that they kidnapped us.

[ They soon arrive at the clothing store, and Firo holds the door open. ]

I've met a lotta nasty people back home, but even this would cross a line for most of 'em.

Kidnap!? After they already put us here? [She walks in the store, but doesn't take her eyes off of Firo. This is all so bad!]

[ Nice going, Firo, make her even more worried. ]

Oh, no, I was talkin' about how they take us from home. Just draggin' us from home is the kidnappin' part.

O-oh, right. Sorry.

[ He follows her inside. ]

[With a smile and a nod she heads over to a rack to find something familiar.]
