[It's a beautiful day today! The sun is shining, but it's not particularly hot. Perfect weather. Just perfect. So today Shiemi ends up taking a nap just off the road on her way to the plaza. The girl and her Skarmory end up spending most of their day there enjoying the river and the small open space of grass by it. She can be caught napping, playing with her pokemon, talking to the plants, or splashing around a little in the shallow part of the water. And later she'll ask a question in the journals.]

Don't you go jumping around wherever you waaaant!

[And he jumps then, a standing jump which takes him... not nearly as high as it could in his demon form, but pretty high, to try to catch her]

[Skarmy squawks and they're both grounded. This is when Shiemi steps in. When the bird rights herself when she and Rin land, Shiemi calls out a command.]

Skarmy, drill peck! [Which the Pokémon will now attempt to do.]

[rashness]

Drill-?!

[And then the bird swoops down in its spiral motion and Rin needs to leap out of the way to avoid that. W-hoa!]

[The Pokémon recovers quickly.]

Leer!

[rashness]

[...Well that's just the bird glaring at---

...Okay no because it's perfected it's more like a laser from it's eyes which lowers his defenses. Weird. WEIRD. But fine, if we're getting serious! He goes for the sword bundle on his back]

[shamelessness]

Swift!

[Skarmy's mouth-lasers aim for the hand that reaches back for his sword.]

[rashness]

[WHAT THE HELL. Ow that shoves his hand and his sword back. It can't take it in hand, but the force of the blow does knock it out of its scabbard and land on the ground behind him. Which means he transforms anyway- excellent. Now much faster, he leaps to land a punch on Skarmy]

[shamelessness]

[Skarmy takes the hit, flying back aways with her steel scuffed up from the blow. Give her a sec, she needs to recover from that one.]

Sand-attack! [As fast as she can (which might be a little slower than normal because of the hit) the bird turns around to kick dirt up in Rin's face/direction.]

[rashness]

[Rin intensifies his flames as he rushes in for the next attack. while some sand does indeed land on him, the majority of the dirt//sand actually ends up lighting on fire and/or melting or... whatever dirt does when exposed to intense heat as opposed to hitting him. That said, he's still quite a ways off despite his speed. Skarmy probably has time for another move]
