❀ 9th Weed in the Garden - Voice/Action ❀

[The victory against Masaomi, the hard training from Green, and Green's question about power... It's got her thinking. Is she powerful? Is she catching up? Is the day she can fight side-by-side with her impressive friends close? She doesn't want to be a burden. She wants to be strong. She wants to help.]

Luceti? I want to know what you think makes you strong. How does a person get strong? Or what do you do to make yourself strong?

[If one-on-one is more your sort, anybody can find Shiemi outside of the clothing shop trying to wrap a scarf around her 7ft+ metal bird. It can't be easy facing winter weather when you're metal. Especially when facing it after a nice heat wave.]

Um... what is a pokemon?
misterbrief: (This is your wife?)

Is action ok?!

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-01-15 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[Vegeta's got himself a popsicle despite the cold weather as he's walking back down to the clothing shop to pick up some more formal wear, eyes on his journal, listening to Shiemi's broadcast when he stops and notices the huge seven foot metal monstrosity outside the shop.]

[And what a whopper of a bird that was. He gives out an involuntary yelp at the sight of Skarmy.]

What in the cosmos is that thing!? [He's never seen a Pokémon before!]
misterbrief: (A crying child?)

then it shall be~

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-01-16 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
A skarma- what? [His eyes are still riveted on the bird, being a little cautious in case it decided he'd make a good lunch for it.]

[He's also giving her the 'that thing is probably going to eat you' look.]
tsuntrader: (...Right.)

Think of how types relate to each other. Water is strong against Fire, but that doesn't make Fire a weak type. The same for Fire and Grass or Grass and Water.

That doesn't mean that you can never beat someone with an advantage over you, either. Feraligatr's weak against Electric attacks, but he has Earthquake to counter that weakness.

If Murkrow beats Politaro in a battle, that doesn't make Politaro weak. They're both strong Pokémon.

If Gold and I lose to Ingo and Emmet, that doesn't make us weak, either, even if we're not as strong as them.

Right?

The basics are quite easy. Sixty-four squares, alternating black and white. Sixteen pieces for each person. The goal is to capture your opponent's king into what is called a 'checkmate'...

It requires a lot of strategy in how one places their pieces. Most times sacrifice is required to meet the end-game.

Kind of. There's also different ways to use that strength to do something in a different way.
castbytheglyph: (I will surely meet you)

Yup! Like, a normal old sword is pretty good on it's own. But if you go and look around you'll eventually find a better one! There's always stronger, cooler stuff out there you can get your hands on.

[Fact: This might only apply to you if you actually use a weapon in the first place.]

...If you ask me, you're doing pretty okay with that as it is. Even if you don't look it at all.

[Thanks to that one world-visiting experiment, she got to see Shiemi dealing with the Impure King stuff and...welp. It made quite the impression.]

Yeah, that sounds about right!

But do you think so? I'm glad! You're pretty strong with your Skarmory, too! It's impressive.

Physical strength is the only one I can work on. Everything else is beyond my control, so I accept what I've been given and work on what I can influence.

I won't be the strongest in the world, but as long as I can do what I want I don't care how flawed my strength is.

[personal profile] silversnowfall 2013-01-16 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, maybe. That is part of it. I also think that being strong is not letting the actions of others determine who you are.

I've never really done it before, sorry.. .. I did try wrestling with Ikki-kun once, but I'm not sure if that was training.
